About

Saint Helena was born in December 2025, and founded by chef, author and presenter Katie White. After many seasons living and working in Europe, Katie wanted to bring all that she loved from the culinary world there, home to Australia, to her favourite town, Byron Bay. 

Saint Helena is the stunning, hilly area between Byron Bay and Bangalow, and gently watches over the town and bay. However, she is also an old world European female saint known for her determination and generosity. So naturally, her name felt perfect for the home of all things European and feminine in the cafe and cooking school which is today Saint Helena Culinary. 

SH is quickly becoming famous for her exceptionally high level of delicious food, all of which is handcrafted on site, fresh daily. Inspired directly from the streets of Italy and France, daily delicacies of fresh baguette, French pastries, tiramisu (including a pistachio flavour which is exceptional), punchy salads, world class toasties (such as fig, honey, brie and walnut) are just some of the wholesome, old school and incredibly delicious options. 

Orange juice pressed to order, fresh espresso and coffee from local and organic roasters Caldera, and handmade lemonade are also available to surprise your pallet with such intensely delicious drinks. 

Most items are sold by weight allowing you to get a snack size of anything, or fill your fridge with a week’s supply of everything you need to sustain yourself, impress guests and satisfy all cravings and European longings…
